Our Workshops
Now, more than ever, young people are needing support with developing their communication skills.
Our targeted workshops have a particular focus on developing students’ ‘in person’ communication skills. This includes:
discussion skills
problem solving
team work
leadership skills
presentation skills
Through hands on activities and student led discussions, students will develop an understanding of how individuals communicate and the impact this can have on group dynamics. They will learn how to express their own ideas and build on others to problem solve and achieve a common goal. The debrief after each activity allows students to reflect on the successes and challenges they experienced and the implications this has for the overall success of their group. Strong links are made between these activities and real world situations, making for authentic learning experiences.
These skills are essential for working together in the classroom, in the playground and in the future work force.
This program is for all students Stage 2 and above.
It is also perfect for smaller groups like:
Student Representative Council
Senior Student Leadership Teams
Debating/ STEM/ Drama Groups
Additionally, this program can be modified to help students understand the value of dealing with things ‘in person’ and how learning to communicate effectively can benefit their relationships with peers, teachers and parents. We help your students work through problems together by getting on the same page and understanding how individuals communicate and the implications this can have for the success their relationships.
Our activities focus on developing positive and effective communication through fostering:
discussion skills
an understanding of body language
active listening skills
Through discussion, strong links are made between activities and real world situations that your students face regularly. This results in reduced workload for teachers as less time will be spent on dealing with ‘drama’ arising from miscommunication.
We work in collaboration with you to determine your focus for the workshop/s and determine the values and ideas you want conveyed to your students.

You can also select a particular focus such as ‘team building’ or ‘public speaking and speech writing/delivery’ and we can create the perfect workshop to meet that goal. Anything is possible!
Communication for Purpose
Same, Same, But Different
Neurodivergence: Building Understanding for Empathy
This short workshop allows the participants to experience a taste of what school can be like for the neurodivergent individual. This workshop is less about ‘What is Neurodivergence’ and more about ‘How does it feel and how can we help?’
It aims to open, or dive deeper into, the conversation for students, parents and staff about the impacts of neurodivergence in the school setting. There is a particular focus on ADHD and Autism, however the key messages about the importance of communication is relevant to all people. This workshop is perfect for Stage 2 and above and a modified version is available for younger students, staff, parents and other group settings like sports teams, workplaces and community groups.
The timing and structure of most workshops can be tailored to meet the time restrictions of your schedule.
